Public events scheduled in the Charles City Area

TUESDAY, MARCH 26

Jivin’ With Jazz concert at the Floyd County Fairgrounds Youth Enrichment Center; doors open at 5:30 p.m., meal at 6 p.m., music starts to 6:30 p.m.; performers include Rhymes With Orange, Middle School and High School Jazz Band, High School Jazz Ensemble.

TUESDAY, APRIL 2

Guest author talk and pasta bar supper, 5:30 p.m. in the Marble Rock Historical Society former Lutheran Church; author Linda McCann will talk about the Prohibition years in Iowa including local anecdotes, to be followed by a freewill donation pasta bar supper in the church basement.


WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

North Iowa Area Community College will host its 2024 Job Expo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.  in the NIACC Gym in Mason City. The expo will have 65 companies looking for prospective employees to fill full-time, part-time, seasonal and/or internship positions.


THURSDAY, APRIL 4

The Charles City Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing beginning at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, regarding a proposed reclassification of three parcels in the city that are being considered as a location for a multi-family housing project.


FRIDAY, APRIL 5

Great Chili Cook-Off Comet Café Edition, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus Club, 502 Clark St., in Charles City; tickets available in advance at 401 Main St. or at door while chili lasts.


SUNDAY, APRIL 7
