The Weekly Word: Christ Liveth in Me

By Pastor Paul Phillips

The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

— Colossians 1:26-27

I remember when I went to church as a boy singing the timeless hymn “Since Jesus Came into My Heart.” The song was a blessing to me back then, and decades later it still is.

Pastor Paul Phillips, Gospel Lighthouse Church, Floyd

Jesus has made a difference in my life since He first came into my heart. One thing for sure, He became the Light of my life and changed my life for the good.

I was bound by sin, but by a miracle of God’s grace I was translated from darkness into the kingdom of God’s Son. Old things passed away and all things were made new. My salvation was a life-changer for this country boy. Forgiveness of my sins, acceptance, purpose, direction, and the promise of eternal life were just a few of the benefits of receiving Christ as my Lord and Savior.

For more than 40 years the Lord has blessed me. I have a wonderful family, a host of friends, and a faithful Savior. I can’t help but brag about Jesus and share about His goodness and kindness with anyone who will listen. He has made some wonderful changes in my life, and I know that the best is yet to come. He is no respecter of persons. Whosoever will may still come. What He has done for me and countless others, I know He will do for you.

The Bible challenges each one of us to “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8)

Have you invited Jesus into your heart? You’ll never regret it if you do.

Since Jesus came into my heart

Since Jesus came into my heart

Floods of joy over my soul like the sea billows roll

Since Jesus came into my heart
