Boys, girls get win vs. North Iowa

The Comet boys bowling team went to 2-0 this season and the girls got its first win in Charles City’s sweep of North Iowa on Friday.

Hunter Brockney had a good evening, bowling a 204 and a 225 as an individual. The boys led by nearly 600 points heading into the bakers duals.

The boys started things off hot, rolling a 247 in the first baker set. They would go on to win 2,984 to 2,060 against the Buffalos.

On the girls’ side, Macy Ross continued her dominance of the lanes. In her first set, Ross bowled a 194 and came away with a 337 total after the individual round. Mija Cotton bowled a 341 and Katie Sickman had the team best 382.

In the bakers round, the girls’ team had a solid third round at 233 and ended up defeated North Iowa 2,638 to 2,014.

The next meet for the Comets will be Dec. 11 at North Fayette Valley at 4 p.m.
