The PAWS Humane Society is still accepting donations for its rummage sale that will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Columbus Club in Charles City.

All proceeds from the sale will help the non-profit animal shelter located at 303 Shaw Avenue on the east end of town. PAWS Director Julie Taylor said the goal is to raise at least $1,000 from the event.

Taylor said she is still looking for volunteers to help out today (Friday) to sort the numerous donations that come through the door. She said donations should be clean and boxed when they are dropped off, and the times for drop-off today are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Taylor said there are four different recliner chairs that have hardly been used that will be for sale. There is a kitchen table and chairs, as well as an antique vanity with mirror. Along with some other furniture there will be plenty of kids and baby clothes and other baby items. There will also be books available for purchase and Christmas decorations in addition to all kinds of other things for sale.

“We appreciate the community and how generously they donate,” said Taylor.

The PAWS rummage sale is held twice a year, in the spring and the fall. Taylor said it has been going on in Charles City for at least 15 years.

If anyone wants more information or wants to donate they can contact Taylor at 641-228-0441.
