Crafts, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, games and snacks were all on the agenda for kids in the first through third grades Saturday at the Floyd County Museum in Charles City.

About a dozen children showed up for the adventure, which takes place the first Saturday of every month from October through March. It is free for museum members and $2 for non-members. The museum has been hosting regular children’s days for more than 15 years.

The goal is to get kids interested in the museum.

“We love to have children coming into the museum,” Floyd County Historical Museum Director Mary Ann Townsend said. She mentioned that kids who attend the program for three years receive a graduation certificate.

The next museum kid’s day will be Saturday, Feb. 2, starting at 9:30 a.m.
