Boots donated to CCHS welding students
Last week, Diane Hammond of Charles City took action after she learned that Charles City High School welding students were learning with footwear that wasn’t 100 percent safe. Hammond donated 17 pairs of leather boots — 14 men’s pairs and three women’s pairs — to the welding class so the students could be more comfortable during their other classes but still have safe and appropriate footwear when the sparks are flying in the welding booth.(Photo submitted.)
