Superheroes will be converging on Charles City on Thursday, Oct. 24, for the 24th annual Spookwalk.

Area kids and their parents or caregivers are invited to celebrate Halloween by taking part on the free event sponsored by Community Revitalization.

“Wear your costume and get ready for some trick-or-treat fun for children 12 and under,” said Jen Solomon, events coordinator, in a press release.

Local businesses and organizations will be hosting treat stations along the Riverfront Park recreational trail and giving goodies out to the trick-or-treaters.

This year’s event theme is “Superheroes,” focusing on superheroes from all generations.

“Don’t forget to bring a goodie bag and a camera as this event is sure to be fun for the whole family!” Solomon said.

Once again this year the Spookwalk Committee is offering a special pre-entry period from 5 to 5:30 p.m. for children who have special/sensory needs or who struggle with large crowds.

You must call the Community Revitalization office or email info@charlescitychamber.com to pre-register for this. No early entry will be allowed that night without pre-registration.

The Spookwalk’s rain date is set for Monday, October 28th.

If your business or organization would like to be part of the 24th Annual Spookwalk, contact the Community Revitalization office at 641-228-2335.
