Work planned this week on N. Grand, E Street tracks

This week, asphalt pavement will be placed over the unused tracks at the Canadian Pacific Railway crossings at North Grand Avenue and E Street to improve the street surface rideability, the Charles City city Engineering Department said in a press release.

E Street will be closed to traffic between 11th Avenue and 13th Avenue intermittently during the week for the preparation and paving work. During construction, North Grand Avenue will be open to one lane of traffic only.

The paving work is expected to be completed and the streets fully open to traffic by the end of this week.
