Lions Club president Doug Sinclair hosted the event, while former president Russ Schwarz then gave a recap of the many Lions Club events and accomplishments over the past year. Projects included the Lions Rose Garden, table and chair rental, the airport fly-in breakfast, kids sight and the book sale. In addition, this past year the Lions Club has added flags over Charles City, a scrap metal drive, sell-a-bone, and pancakes for hire, with the ultimate goal of funding their tornado memorial flag In Central Park.

Kip Hauser, chairman of the event, introduced the widows present. As the evening closed, each widow was given a multi-colored mum plant table decoration, supplied by Otto’s Oasis.
