CCHS vocal jazz singers host ‘popup’ performance

The Charles City High School vocal jazz ensembles, directed by Derek Sturtevant, hosted an open house “popup” performance in the high school choir room Wednesday evening.

Parents and the public were invited, and festive treats and drinks were provided. Singers and instrumentalists ranging from the elementary school select choir to high school band and orchestra groups have provided seasonal entertainment at more than a dozen locations throughout the community this week.

On Thursday, high school jazz vocal groups Rhymes with Orange, 2JazzedUp and Here Comes Trouble will be performing at KCHA at 8:10 a.m., McDonald’s at 9 a.m., Aroma’s at 9:45 a.m., Chautauqua (11th St.) at 10:30 a.m. and First Security Bank at 1 p.m.

On Friday, the middle school choir will be performing at KCHA at 8:10 a.m., Aroma’s at 9:45 a.m., Chautauqua (11th St.) at 10:30 a.m., the Charles City Senior Center at 11:15 a.m. and Chautauqua (9th St.) at noon.
