Kay Francis Gabel Biddick

Kay Francis Gabel Biddick, 72 of Sparta, GA, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at her sister’s home in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday May 4, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roseville, Iowa. Officiating will be Deacon Matt Miller. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at the church school. Following services she will be cremated and returned home to be with her husband. A memorial service will be held later in Milledgeville, GA.

Kay was the daughter of Edgar “Ted” and Margaret “Osier” Gabel and was born on April 16, 1947 in Charles City, Iowa. She graduated from the Charles City High School with the class of 1965. She was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Leslie Biddick on July 23, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roseville. After Chuck’s graduation from Iowa State University they made their home in Rock Island, IL and then moved to Stone Mountain, GA in 1968. She has called Georgia home ever since. She worked for a record distribution company and then in the office with American Motors Company. In 1989 they moved to Milledgeville, GA on Lake Sinclair. She retired in 2015 but still remained a part time employee in the Financial Aid department of the Georgia College and State University.

In her spare time, she followed her children to all of their sporting events which created a lifelong love of all types of sports, especially anything with Auburn University and NASCAR. She was a lover of dogs and cats, reading True Murder Mysteries, and all of her adopted grandkids.

Those surviving Kay are her two children Kimberly Kay Biddick and Stanley Charles Biddick both of Millbrook, Al; her siblings Jean Curley of Mason City, and two brothers Roger (Paulette) Gabel and David (Deborah) Gabel all of Rockford, Iowa. Also surviving several nieces, nephews and a multitude of extend family and friends.

Preceding her in death is her husband Chuck on April 3rd, 2016, and her parents.
