Laura Lee Rohwedder

Funeral Services for Laura Rohwedder, 48, of Charles City, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Marble Rock with Pastor Dennis Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Marble Rock.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Marble Rock and will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Laura was born on May 31, 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of David and Janice M. (Ruehlow) Duenow and died on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Osage Rehabilitation Center.

She was baptized on July 28, 1970 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Kansas City, MO with her Uncle Tom and Aunt Sherry Repper as her godparents. Laura was confirmed through Faith at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on May 6, 1984 in Joplin, MO.

She received her education in various public schools graduating from Trinity Lutheran High School in 1988. Laura continued her education at NIACC and completed a Secretarial Degree. Because her parents moved around a lot Laura and her sister Janelle (Duenow) Dokken became best friends. Laura’s parents moved to Osage after Laura’s graduation.

Laura worked at Hardee’s in Mason City; Petrol Pumper in Clear Lake and finally Fox River Mills in Osage where she was employed for the next 25 years.

Laura met her husband Brad in 2004 and married him on Jan. 14, 2008.

Laura enjoyed entertaining her nieces (DeeDee and Samantha) and stepson (Kameron) and step daughter Brooke, with carving pumpkins each year. Laura loved the children as though they were her own. She took them to Charles City to the parade and enjoyed watching sci-fi movies as well as going to parks and museums. Laura loved life and being around people. She was on a softball team, a volley ball team and a billiards team. Laura went dancing with friends Rita Witcraft, Melinda Sanchez, and Karla Spangenberg.

Laura is survived by her husband, Brad; stepson Kameron, stepdaughter Brooke (Steve) Paulson and their three children, Addison, Cooper and Maddox; mother-in-law Cheryl Rohwedder, her father David (Vicky) Duenow and her mother Janice Duenow; her sister Janelle (Darin) Dokken along with their two daughters, DeeDee and Samantha; brother-in-law Randy (Kelly) Rohwedder; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, one uncle, three cousins and her father-in-law.
