Lorraine K. Malmin

Lorraine K. Malmin, 75 of Orchard, Iowa, died Monday, June 25, 2019 at her home.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt, Charles City, Iowa. Officiating will be the Rev. Norm Bauer of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Lorraine Katherine was born on Feb. 8, 1944 in Oakland California the daughter of Fred G. and Thelma Irene (Reed) Biehs. She graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1961. On Aug. 30, 1970 she was united in marriage to Allen Eugene Malmin in Reno Nevada. Over the years she worked as a legal secretary and in Real Estate with her husband in California and then when they moved to the North Iowa area in 1992 she worked at Comp Systems.

She loved her gardens of vegetables and flowers and was a true caregiver providing to her family. She and Allen loved to travel to places such as Norway, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. One of her favorites was riding in dune buggies in the Tahoe area. She looked forward to the Olympics every four years and especially the ice scatting, gymnastics and snowboarding.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Allen of 48 years, her four grandchildren, Ashley Worthy of Kennewick, WA; William “Billy” Worthy of Creston, Iowa; Coleman Worthy, of Mason City, Iowa; and Hattie Miller, Elma, Iowa, along with being great grandmother to Jeremy Lembke, and Koda Worthy.

Her parents and both children Sandra Miller and Mike Malmin along with her first cousin who she was especially fond of Bobbie Sherrill, preceded her in death.
