A memorial service for Ardella Green Morrison will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Charles City with Pastor Matt Howlett officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

Born at the family home in New Hampton, Iowa on July 29, 1936, Ardella was the third and youngest child of Myron and Myrtle (Slick) Zipse. The family later moved to Charles City, Iowa where she graduated high school in 1954. Ardella married Gayle Green on May 24, 1957. Together they had 4 children: oldest daughter, Gayla, twins: Dana and Deanna and youngest son, Greg. They raised the family in Charles City.

Ardella started working for Northwestern Bell while in high school and she retired from the phone company in 1986.

In 1988, Ardella married Howard Morrison, they moved to Spring Hill, Florida that same year. Ardella loved the area and stayed in Florida even after Howard’s passing.

Ardella met Victor Ross at the Aripeka Elks Club in 2007, and they have since been partners in life and shared a home in the Timber Pines Community.

Ardella had a passion for travel with Gayle and the kids, seeing the country in a Pontiac station wagon towing a Shasta camper, and later in life seeing the world from luxury cruise ships.

Ardella was preceded in death by her parents; son, Greg; husbands: Gayle and Howard; and granddaughter, Jennifer.

She is survived by her children: Gayla (Steve) Wilkinson, Dana (Joy) Green and Deanna (Tom) Ballard; sister, Dolores Markle; brother, Harry (Vivian) Zipse; three grandchildren: Nate (Teri) Wilkinson, Samantha Wilkinson and Tyanne (Ballard) Collier; five great-grandchildren: MaKai, Alexis, Tyler, Kaliah and Maceo; two step-grandchildren: Ryan and Evan; and life companion, Victor Ross.

Before cancer made it impossible – she also loved to dance. Ardella is now on the best cruise ever, dancing again…..
