Virginia Tietz

Virginia Tietz, 86, of Charles City passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019.
Virginia was a kind, loving, and generous person with a big personality and a huge laugh that invited everyone to join in. She was a loving and devoted wife to Roy, mother to Heidi and Heather, and grandmother to Jacob and Samantha.
Virginia was a dedicated educator for 40+ years before retiring and spending much of her time volunteering in her community. With Roy, she volunteer managed the Charles Theater for many years and was honored with the Charles City Man and Woman of the Year award for her service.

She asked that it be known she spent significant time during her life picking up and putting away.

Virginia loved to cook and entertain friends and family. The family will be hosting an event Saturday, September 21st from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Charles City Elks Lodge. Please join us to eat, laugh and celebrate Virginia’s life.
Virginia’s wishes were that any memorials be directed to Charles City’s TLC- The Learning Center or Our Brother’s Keeper at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Graveside service to be scheduled at a later date.
