James ‘Jim’ Kellogg

James “Jim” Kellogg, 66, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A memorial service for Jim Kellogg will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home with Reverend Patty Kellogg officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

James Allen Kellogg, the son of Earl and Thelma (Gravunder) Kellogg, was born June 29, 1953 in Charles City. He received his education in the Charles City School System before beginning his working career. Jim was a delivery and drop-off carrier for the Des Moines Register, worked at White Farm in Charles City and finally at IMI in Mason City until his retirement.

Jim enjoyed fishing (especially in northern Minnesota), collecting rocks (especially agates), was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes in football and basketball and liked watching WWE Professional Wrestling. Family was very important to Jim, and he helped take care of both his mother and father in their times of poor health. Jim will be missed by all those who loved him.

Living family members include his siblings: Linda Hoy, Duane (Sandra) Kellogg and William (Patty) Kellogg all of Charles City; two brothers-in-law: Bob Heuton of Fontanelle and Tim Stevens of Ely, Minnesota; significant other, Deb Marvin of Charles City; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Karen Heuton and Brenda Stevens; and brother-in-law, Terry Hoy.
