Norma Poehlein

Norma Jean Poehlein 92, passed away peacefully June 5, 2021 at home in Clermont, FL.  She was born July 29, 1928 in Ackley, IA to Gilbert Henry and Ethel (Whyte) Henry.  Norma graduated from Nevada High School and attended Grinnell College and Iowa State University. She married Vernon Poehlein on December 29, 1949 and they raised four daughters, Peggy, Pamela, Patti and Paula, while living in Charles City, IA.

Norma was active with Church, PEO, Rainbow Girls and volunteering at numerous organizations including the hospital, Hospice and Care Center.  She enjoyed the many trips taken with Vernon, gardening, baking, sewing, playing bridge with friends and games with family. She always had a positive attitude and smile on her face.

Norma is survived by her husband Vernon, daughters Peggy Poehlein, Carnation, WA, Pamela Hall, Huxley, IA, Patti (William) Foster, Lancaster, WI, Paula Barber, Coralville, IA, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sister Janet Wray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley Eckhardt,, brother Richard Henry and infant son Donald.

Her ashes will be laid to rest at Nevada Municipal Cemetery, Nevada, IA at a later date.
