Press Staff Report
CHARLES CITY — After starting the season 0-3 and having scveral tiebreakers deny them of match victories, the Charles City Comets finally got into the win column with a dominant performance over Oelwein, Tuesday at Sportsmen’s Park.

Singles players Jodie Sindlinger (No. 1), Amy Boggess (No. 2), Kayla Kellogg (No. 3), Taylor Walters (No. 4), Lauren Connell (No. 5) and Jacie Wink (No. 6) all were winners.

Sindlinger, Boggess, Walters, Connell and Wink were all straight-set winners while only losing a total of three games between them.

Sophomore Kellogg dropped her first set (6-3) to Oelwein’s Morgan Vanter, but bounced back to win the second (6-4), forcing a super tiebreaker, which Kellogg won (10-7).
Charles City’s No. 1 doubles team of Sindlinger and Boggess and No. 3 doubles team of Connell and Wink both won their matches 6-0, 6-0.

Kellogg and Walters went up 6-1 in the first set of the No. 2 doubles match against Mahayla Harrison and Vanter before the Huskie pair won the second set (6-2) and the subsequent tiebreaker (10-7).

Charles City will be back in action next Tuesday (April 23) with an away match against Clear Lake.
