Charles City's Sami Heyer, Lisabeth Fiser and Ashlyn Hoeft named to Class 4A Northeast All-District Team
Charles City head softball coach Brian Bohlen, shown congratulating Sami Heyer after she hit a home run early into this past season, was named the Class 4A Northeast District Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Bohlen, who reached 400 coaching wins this season, and other district COTYs and those who reached coaching milestones were honored Monday during the Iowa Girls Coaching Association All-Star Softball Games at Waukee High School. Bohlen was one of the coaches and Heyer was one of the players for the Red Team. Heyer was named to the Class 4A Northeast All-District Team for the third season in a row. Comet junior Lisabeth Fiser was named All-District for the second straight season, and Ashlyn Hoeft — who with battery mate Heyer was named to the Class 4A All-Tournament Team after helping Charles City place 3rd at the State Softball Championships — was the lone freshman named to the All-District Team.
