CC Cares ready for annual Thanksgiving dinner

It’s just about time for turkey day, so CC Cares is getting ready to provide its annual Charles City community Thanksgiving dinner.
The organization will be serving up a freewill donation dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the parish hall in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The menu includes turkey, ham, potatoes, beans, stuffing, and a dessert.
For those that can’t make it out for dinner, delivery options are available by calling Kim Watkins at 641-330-5441 by Wednesday, Nov. 23.
Those looking to volunteer or donate to the event can also call that number.
CC Cares has been serving Thanksgiving dinners for 25 years now, with 40 volunteers dedicating their time last year to provide the meal for the community.
“This event has been going on a long time,” said Watkins. “We served around 500 people last year.”
