Four hundred and sixty-four people got a Thanksgiving day dinner and a lot of companionship last Thursday, thanks to CC Cares and many volunteers and supporters.

The annual Thanksgiving day community dinner included the customary holiday spread – turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans and an assortment of pies for dessert – and was held this year at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.

It also included almost three dozen volunteers to prepare, serve and then clean up the meal, along with seven drivers and their families who helped deliver meals to those who couldn’t get out.

The annual event is in its 25th year, according to CC Cares founder and Thanksgiving day meal organizer Kimberly Watkins.

Among those helping out Thursday were Barb Jones, Nancy Johlas, Glenn Johlas, Aletha Berding, Tami Miller, Bob Krueger, Robin Krueger, Stacy Cleveland, Kimberly Watkins, Brian Watkins, Deb Bonzer, Don Holm, Shirley Holm, Joni Roth, Missy England, Lisa Hagarty Nelson, Paige Hagarty, Julie Flood, Sherry Hadley, Jeff Hadley, Payton Hadley, Ethan Hadley, Dave Lusk and Julie Cline, along with delivery drivers Dave Bahe, Cassie Micheal and family, Missy Freund and family, Linda Reiff, Carol Bauer, Sarah Michaud and Staci Ackerson.
