Health fair hosted by students at WNMU

Students in the occupational therapy assistant program at Western New Mexico University held their annual health fair Tuesday, April 10, at the Graham Gymnasium on the WNMU campus.

Connie Rooks, assistant professor in the occupational therapy program, who directed the fair, said, “ We want the entire Grant County community involved, so they can discover what healthy choices are available, and how to live a healthy lifestyle.’

When Rooks was asked if she was going to tell people not to eat hot dogs, she responded, “Hot dogs are OK, as long as you get some exercise along with them.

“ Putting on the health fair gives students an opportunity to learn about service projects and to hone their communication skills,’ Rooks said.
