School Board meets in closed session for expulsion cases

The Charles City School Board will meet at 5 p.m.

tonight in the Superintendent Dr. Dan Cox’s office to discuss two possible student expulsions. Administration has requested that the School Board go into closed session per Iowa Code 21.5.1(e).

This code reads: to conduct a hearing to suspend or expel a student, unless an open session is requested by the student or a parent or guardian of the student if the student is a minor.”

School Board members will be given an opportunity to take action on the closed sessions in an open session.
