The curtain will rise on the Charles City Middle School students this week as they perform “The Enchanted Bookshop” at Trinity Methodist Church.

“It’s a fun play that involves book characters that come to life at night to help their book store owner and save their shop from jewelry thieves,” said play director Lynn Bauer.

Scheduled for Friday, March 10, at 7 p.m. with an encore matinee performance on Saturday, March 11, at 2 p.m., 23 middle school actors supported by a 21-member stage crew will apply what they’ve learned about putting on a show for a live audience.

Tickets at the door will be $2 for students and $5 for adults.

“We just hope that the community would like to come out and support us,” said Bauer. “It will be a fantastic night for entertainment.”
