Barbara Ann Staudt

Barbara Ann Staudt, a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, joined her husband and life partner, Leo, in heaven on Nov. 28, 2022. She was 84.

A funeral mass for Barb Staudt will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Roseville, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2022 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home beginning with the Rosary prayed at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church on Tuesday.

Barb was born on Nov. 19, 1938, in Charles City, Iowa, the oldest of six children her parents, Catherine and Robert Byrne, raised. She attended school at Immaculate Conception in Charles City and started working at Salsbury, an animal health laboratory. In 1962, she married Leo, a farmer she quickly fell in love with after they met. She devoted all her time to their six children and raised them to be kind, loving, and thoughtful, just like she was. Barb and Leo spent hours playing cards with their family and friends between church, sporting events, and family trips to Okoboji. For many years, Barb and Leo spent their Sundays with all five of their surviving children and more grandchildren every year.

Barb is survived by her five children, Daniel Staudt (Allison), Lori Halsted (Joe Anderson), Mark Staudt (Kathy), Michael Staudt (Stacy), and Melissa Davis (Curt); her grandchildren, Katelyn, Alex, Paige, Cole, AJ, Adam, Emma, Nick, Megan, Jake, Olivia, Anna, Amber, Izzy, Thomas, and Sam; her great-grandchild, Emmitt, and one more on the way; her siblings, Pat Levenhagen, David Byrne (Janice), Jean Byrne, Kathy Worrall, and Roberta Byrne; her sisters-in-law, Cleo Hebert and Ellen O’Connell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Staudt, her daughter, Jannette Staudt, and her parents, Robert and Catherine Byrne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the family and will be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and MercyOne North Iowa Hospice.
