Eileen Zimmerman, 84, of Charles City, formerly of Lansing, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Port Charles Assisted Living in Charles City. A funeral Mass for Eileen Zimmerman will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.
Eileen Lisbeth Paulus Zimmerman was born Oct. 23, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Thelma (Hanson) Paulus. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy in Charles City.
On May 9, 1945, she was united in marriage to Emil Zimmerman. Eileen was employed at Barnhart-Lampert Lumber Company from 1943-1945 and at the Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company from 1946-1977. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madonna Circle and St. Francis Circle. Her interests included flower gardening, fishing and reading. Family was very important to Eileen and she always enjoyed sharing life’s journey with them.
Living family members include a daughter, Nancy (Glen) Springer of Lansing; three grandchildren, Robin (Kevin) McGlynn, Wendi (Randy) Huck and Darren Shave; five great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Thomas Trainer of Charles City; and a sister, Dorothy Lines of Osage. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on October 10, 2005; a daughter, Janet Trainer; a brother, Donald Paulus; and a brother-in-law, Maurice Lines.
