Anna M. Knapp, 88, of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., formerly of Charles City, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2008, at Eisenhower Memorial Hospital in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Trinity Methodist Church in Charles City with Pastor Dennis Johnson and Pastor Gary Van Wert officiating. Jeannine Milus will be the organist.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Nashua.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua (641) 435-4134 and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Anna Mildred Knapp was born March 20, 1920, in Minnesota the daughter of Charles and Olga (Will) Conner.
She was united in marriage to Troy L. Knapp in Charles City, Iowa on Jan. 12, 1948. To this union a son, Lonnie and a daughter, Shirley were born. She worked with Troy on the family farm north of Nashua until retiring in 1997. Anna was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City.
Anna is survived by her son, Lonnie (Nancy) Knapp of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; her daughter, Shirley (Joel) Rasmussen of Clear Lake and four grandchildren, Jamie and Dusty Knapp and Adam & Alicia Rasmussen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy on Dec. 30, 2002; a grandson, Eric Knapp and her parents, Charles and Olga.
