Keith Carr, 78, of 1818 Radio Rd, Marion, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center after complications of Parkinson disease. A Funeral Mass was held Nov. 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Keith was born Jan. 18, 1930, in his home near Nashua, the son of Howard Donald and Gladys Inza (Kiffner) Carr. He married Norma Elenz on June 9, 1962, in Manchester. He was employed by Collins Radio/Rockwell for 43 years, retiring in June of 2000. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War from 1951-1953 and was honorably discharged in 1953.
Living family members include his wife of 46 years, Norma; daughter, Kim (Joel) Wichgers of Urbana; son, Kurt Carr of Cedar Rapids; and daughter, Kay Carr of Cedar Rapids; twin brother, Kenneth (Pat) of Floyd; brother, Marvin (Mitzie) of Charles City; and sister Alice Larson of Callender.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Gladys Carr; brothers, H. Allen Carr and Myron Carr; and brothers-in-law Edward Larson and Glenn Parr.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
