Carl “Judd” Krueger Jr. was born Feb. 18, 1930, in rural Bremer County, the son of Carl William and Elsa Louise (Warnke) Krueger Sr. He attended school in Frederika until the 10th grade and was then a 1947 graduate of the New Hampton High School. Upon returning home, Judd engaged in farming with his brother and his wife, Robert and Norma Krueger.
