Elizabeth (Betty) Schwab, 64, of Charles City, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Main Street South, in Charles City, with Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating.  Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, Dec. 19, at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Street, Charles City.  Betty will be cremated following the visitation.  Burial of ashes will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City following the service.  Stories, thoughts and condolences may be shared with the family on the funeral home website at www.Fullertonfh.com.

Betty was born on May 12, 1944, in Osage, the daughter of Robert and Bernadine (Wagner) Lence.  She lived in Charles City since the age of 10, graduating from Charles City High School.  She was united in marriage to Charles Schwab on Aug. 29, 1986.  Betty retired from White Farm as a manager in 1993 after 28 years of service.  She enjoyed her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gordon Mead of Charles City, Daniel Mead of Greene, and Angela Tonilli of Charles City; sisters, Anita Goetsch, Kathleen Rademacher and Diane Vance; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, in 2001.
