Floyd County furnace replacement program application deadline approaching

The Floyd County Housing Trust Fund is accepting applications within its Furnace Replacement Program through December 9, 2016. 

The Trust Fund will cover 100 percent of furnace purchase and installation costs for residents at or below 30 percent median income.  Successful applicants between 31-50 percent median income will have 75 percent of costs covered by the Trust Fund. 

The adjusted annual income thresholds by number residing in the home:

For a 1-person home: 30 percent median: $20,520, 50 percent median: $34,200

For a 2-person home: 30 percent median: $20,520, 50 percent median: $34,200

For a 3-person home: 30 percent median: $23,598, 50 percent median: $39,330

For a 4-person home: 30 percent median: $23,598, 50 percent median: $39,330

For a 5-person home: 30 percent median: $23,598, 50 percent median: $39,330

For a 6-person home: 30 percent median: $23,812, 50 percent median: $39,687

For a 7-person home: 30 percent median: $25,443, 50 percent median: $42,406

For an 8-person home: 30 percent median: $27,093, 50 percent median: $45,156

Successful applicants shall own the single-family home which is their primary residence; be current on property taxes; have homeowner’s insurance; and, have a furnace which is at least 10 years old.
