Only a handful of tickets remain for Murder Mystery Dinner

To the Press

Time is running out for the unsuspecting “victim” of the upcoming Murder Mystery Dinner on Saturday — and for those interested in attending this event who don’t have their tickets yet.

Only a handful of tickets remain for the event Feb. 24 at the Floyd County Fairgrounds Youth Enrichment Center, which will serve as the annual Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce dinner and auction.

In addition to a prime rib dinner catered by Dave’s Restaurant and an opportunity to bid on items in the silent and live auctions, participants will be treated to an interactive dinner theatre.

The “Totally 80s, Totally Murder” theme encourages attendees to dress in their best ’80s attire and go with the big hair look as part of the fun. Everyone will be invited to help solve the mystery of “who dun it” after someone at the event turns up “murdered.”

A troupe of actors from The Murder Mystery Co. will produce the murder mystery fun in a Clue-style manner that promises lots of audience participation, laughs and surprises.

Last year’s Chamber dinner event, featuring a different themed murder mystery, was well received. Unlike last year’s event, however, there will be more elbow room for the expected crowd of 250-plus with the larger venue at the fairgrounds.

Included among the more than 40 auction items donated by Chamber member businesses this year are a 43-inch 4K Smart TV, security system, six-burner gas grill, and two tickets to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to Chamber activities and services.

Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., with several ’80s-themed specialty drinks featured at the cash bar. The buffet-style meal will begin at 6 p.m. and the entertainment at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $30 each for Chamber members and $35 for nonmembers and are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office, 401 N. Main St. Call the Chamber office at 641-228-4234, email info@charlescitychamber.com or visit www.charlescitychamber.com for more information.
