Floyd County shed fire’s smoke visible from miles away

A shed fire between Marble Rock and Greene let loose a cloud of smoke visible from Rockford.

Fire departments from Charles City, Marble Rock, Greene and other Floyd County agencies descended on the farm on 2800 block of March Avenue.

The fire started between 2 and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The firefighter went through the ice from a recent rain that layered the ground surrounding the shed and farm.

So far no cause of the fire has been determined.

No injuries were reported from the fire or fire departments.
