If re-elected, it will be Roberts’ sixth term in the county office, having first been elected in 1998. She started working in the Recorder’s Office in 1978 while in high school.

Roberts, who does not run affiliated with any political party, said it has been a very rewarding job and she enjoys all aspects of her position, especially working with the public.

“Not everyone can say they love their job, as I do,” she said. “I am blessed to have the best co-workers to work with every day. Our customers become friends and we look forward to seeing them when they come to the courthouse to conduct business.”

Roberts has taken courses to become a certified recorder with the Iowa County Recorders Association. She has also served and is currently serving on several boards and commission within the association. She was the association’s president in 2012.

Roberts and her husband, Galen, live in Floyd. She is a 1979 graduate of Charles City High School.

“I am excited about serving the constituents of Floyd County for four more years,” Roberts said. “I embrace the challenges of this position and always give my best every day.”
