Several school events rescheduled

The Charles City School District has been working through the headaches of rescheduling events and activities that were recently canceled due to all the hazardous weather, and there seems to be a plan, at least for now.

The CCHS Vocal Pops Concert is still on for tonight (Tuesday), starting at 7:30 at the North Grand Building.

The CCHS band and orchestra concerts that were canceled last week due to weather will both be presented on Thursday this week, at the North Grand Building starting at 7 p.m.

The sixth, seventh and eighth grade bands and orchestras will now have “informances,” meaning the performances will be in the school during normal rehearsal time. Parents can watch and hear the students play their concert music in a regular classroom setting.

The bands will perform today (Tuesday). The seventh and eight graders will perform at 10:45 a.m. in the band room, while the sixth graders will perform at 2:45 p.m. in the sixth-grade learning studio.

The orchestras will perform on Friday. The seventh-and-eighth grade orchestra will perform at 10:45 a.m. on Friday in the orchestra room, while the sixth-grade orchestra will perform at 2:40 p.m. Friday, also in the orchestra room.

The dates of the CCMS and CCHS spring plays have not changed. The middle school will present “The Secret Garden” on March 8-9 at the North Grand Building, while the high school will present “Clue” on April 12-13 at the North Grand Building.
