CCHS graduates celebrate past, look toward bright futures

This past Sunday was more than the average last day of a weekend for Charles City Comets. Laughter, sniffles, cheers, hugs and handshakes were filled the Charles City High School gymnasium and cafeteria as the class of 2016 celebrated their graduation.

Brody Tupy was elected by his peers to address his classmates during Sunday’s ceremony. He commended his classmates for all they have achieved over the past four years — each took their high school career and mastered new skills. He urged them to take this next chapter in life, to take on new challenges to master another skillset.

Cully Forsyth, also chosen by his classmates to speak, advised his peers to become a successful person. Take the success they see others achieve and give 110 percent to achieve it themselves, he said.

Class valedictorians were Maison Holzer, Breuklyn Opp and  Brody Tupy.
