Knucklehead, Twin Cam or Milwaukee 8.

It doesn’t matter the engine or the cycle, but what does is that Cedar River Harley–Davidson will be the place to be for anyone this Saturday in search of live music, good food and a great time.

Just off Highway 218, right outside of Floyd, will be the inaugural Shine and Show 2018 that will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show will feature all kinds of different motorcycles from around the area being judged.

Winners will take home shiny trophies and there’s also a chance to spin to win discounts on officially licensed Harley–Davidson clothing items.

Oh, don’t forget SCARYjerry’s trophy girls.

“They’ll be a couple pretty ladies here,” said Cedar River service manager Jerry Myers.

“Jerry’s Gems,” as Myers calls his trophy girls, will be available for photos with anybody’s bike if one is so inclined and that’s just some of the fun and exciting things for anyone to come check out.

Myers — who goes by the name SCARYjerry — is excited for the chance to see plenty of revved up cycles strutting their stuff in what he calls a “real low–key” event.

“Basically it’s just a ride–in bike show, man — run what ya brung,” said Myers. “No need to get it fancy — just bring it in and show it off.”

Whether it’s a knucklehead engine, panhead, shovelhead, evolution, twincam or Milwaukee 8 engine — they’ll be winners in each engine category. Jerry said there’s a sportster category and a people’s choice trophy will be handed out as well.

Folks can also take part in demo rides of 2018 models.

“Show up with a motorcycle license and we’ll let you test ride the new 2018 Milwaukee 8 motorcycle,” said Myers.

PV and the Phantoms — a 5–piece classic rock and blues band from Charles City — will rock out with hits from the 70s and 80s. Stevie Nicks, Heart, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton are just some of the artists PV and the Phantoms cover. The Phantoms are a 2015 inductee into the Iowa Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

The Island Grill food truck will be on site and offers up a tasty menu of egg rolls, pork on a stick, fried rice and noodles. Those delicious treats can also be purchased in combo meals. Complimentary adult beverages are available.

“Food and music is always a good time to get together with people of like interests,” said Myers.

Anyone can sign their bike up for judging at the registration table on Saturday.

Depending on the weather, Myers expects anywhere from 100 to 250 people to take in all the action at the cycle shop just a few miles from Charles City.
