Two Nora Springs residents were injured in a crash 5 miles west of Marble Rock Friday morning when a pickup truck ran into a semi.
According to a report by the Iowa State Patrol, Tony Keeling, age 41, of Nora Springs, was traveling south on Dancer Avenue (county road T18) in Floyd County, driving a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup.
David Noss, age 38, of Rockwell, was traveling west on 270th Street (county road B60), driving a 2006 Peterbilt semi pulling an empty grain trailer.
The report said Keeling failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection, crashing into the grain trailer and splitting it in half, then coming to rest on the road.
Keeling and another passenger in his pickup, Aaron Olson, age 25, of Nora Springs, were both transported to Mercy Health Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
A nursing supervisor at Mercy said both men were treated and transferred, but she could not release information on where they were transferred.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted at the scene, on its Facebook page advised people to avoid the area as the investigation continued. The Sheriff Office listed these agencies as assisting at the scene: Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Marble Rock Fire and First Responders, Rockford Fire, Greene Fire, AMR Ambulance, Nora Springs Ambulance, Greene Ambulance, Mason City Ambulance and Scott’s Wrecker.
