CCHS speech team sends improv groups to All-State

Two Charles City High School improvisation groups will advance to the Iowa High School Speech Association’s All State program on Feb. 17, at the Iowa State Center in Ames.

Students Emily and Lily Woodard, sophomores; and John Perez, Gavin Connell and Chris Campbell, seniors; will perform as northeast Iowa district representatives. Performance times have not yet been released by the IHSSA.

Both groups were nominated by judges at the Feb. 3 state competition to perform at All-State.

After the 2018 event, Charles City will have had performing or non-performing student groups represented for more than 35 years in a row at IHSSA All-State.
