A good morning for a walk

It was a good day for a walk along Riverside Drive in Charles City on Tuesday, with sunshine, temperatures in the mid-70s and a light breeze off the Cedar River, and these kids took full advantage. The high humidity throughout the weekend dissipated on Monday, allowing many residents to turn the air conditioning off and open up the windows. High temperatures Monday and Tuesday were in the low 80s, with overnight lows around 60 degrees. More of the same is expected on Wednesday, with the high of 81 degrees forecast for Wednesday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into the area Wednesday night, and showers are likely throughout the day on Thursday and into Thursday evening. High temperatures Thursday and Friday were expected to be in the mid-70s, with overnight lows in the mid-60s. (Press photo James Grob.)
