Holiday Home Tour set in Charles City Dec. 9

To The Press

Enjoy the spirit of the holidays and take in the festive and unique decor of six different residences around town during the 2018 “There’s No Place Like Home For The Holidays Home Tour” Dec. 9 in Charles City.

Organized by the Design Committee of Community Revitalization, the holiday home tour will feature six local homes decorated in their own styles and traditions, as well as a stop at the community’s Festival of Trees site at Otto’s Oasis.

The tour will run from 1-4 p.m., with participants able to stop and see any or all of the featured locations in no particular order and at their choosing.

The Festival of Trees, a collection of uniquely decorated trees by a variety of non-profit organizations around town, will be open that day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1313 Gilbert St.

Festival of Trees viewers are encouraged to vote for their favorites by leaving a donation in the kettles beneath the trees, with all proceeds going to benefit those respective organizations. There is no admission cost to the Festival of Trees and refreshments will be available.

Tickets will be available starting Nov. 26 at the Community Revitalization office at 401 North Main St., as well as Otto’s Oasis and the Hy-Vee service counter. The day of the tour, tickets will be available at each tour stop.

This year’s tour hosts will be:

  • Jim and Sharon Kamoss at 107 Kelly St.
  • Pat and Cindy Ohlerking at 1206 Clark St.
  •  Vicky Schroeder at 1 Sunset Place.
  • Christopher Anthony at 602 D St.
