A man who lists his address as Osage has been charged with sexual abuse and domestic abuse assault for allegedly forcing a woman to have sex with him at her residence in rural Floyd County.

Nathan Dean Ketelsen, 34, is charged with sexual abuse in the third degree, a Class C felony, and domestic abuse assault with intent to cause serious injury, causing bodily injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, for allegedly forcing his estranged wife to have sex with him after a verbal argument.

According to court records, Ketelsen “forcefully pushed her down on their bed and held her down” and forced the woman to have sex with him against her will. He then “threatened to smother her with a pillow.”

A district court judge has issued a no-contact order between Ketelsen and the woman and her children.

According to the application for the no-contact order, the Floyd County Attorney’s Office stated, “The presence of or contact with the defendant poses a threat to the safety of the alleged victim and her minor children, persons residing with the alleged victim or members of the alleged victim’s family.

“The defendant made various threats to harm the minor children in an attempt to control the victim during the sexual assault. The defendant also made numerous threats regarding the minor children during the assault and sexual assault,” the court record alleges.

Ketelsen was released from the Floyd County Jail on $2,000 bond. Arraignment has been set for Monday, Jan. 7.
