Paul Packard, 52, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A private family celebration of Paul’s life will take place at a later date. According to his wishes, he has been cremated.

Paul W. Packard, the son of Dennis and Murl “Jody” (Fisher) Packard, was born April 26, 1963 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was educated in Ann Arbor and then enlisted in the Army. On April 1, 2000, Paul was united in marriage to Laura Parker in West Palm Beach, Florida. The couple made their home in Charles City. Paul worked as a Maintenance Technician at Homeland Energy Solutions for six years and loved his job very much. He was an avid football fan (Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers), enjoyed woodworking, but loved spending time with his family and friends the most. Paul also bowled Thursday nights at The Comet Bowl with a great group of guys and he treasured all of the time spent with them as well.

Living family members include the love of his life, his wife, Laura of Charles City; mother, Murl “Jody” Janis of Charles City; brother, Roger Packard; and sister, Sonja Robertson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Packard; grandmother, Anne Packard; grandfather, Don Packard; and grandfather, Paul Fisher.
