Mildred HoeftMildred Hoeft, 100, of Charles City, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at 11th St. Chautauqua Guest Homes. Per her wishes she was cremated and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Sunnyside Memory Garden.

Mildred (Knolke) Hoeft was born Oct. 6, 1915 in Gilmore City to Grace and Fred Knolke. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1934. On June 19, 1940, Mildred was united in marriage to Raymond Hoeft at St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City. They farmed east of Charles City for 48 years before moving to town. The couple wintered in Stuart, Fla. for several winters, where Raymond passed away in 1988.

Mildred enjoyed many years of volunteer work at the Food Box, Treasure Chest, and being a Pink Lady at Floyd County Medical Center.

Those left to cherish her memory include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; two sisters, Violet and Lois; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Lenora Koebrick.
