William W. “Bill” Lincoln, 75, of Charles City, Iowa died Friday evening, Jan. 5, 2018 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Memorials may be directed in his name to Our Brother’s Keeper – Trinity United Methodist Church, Charles City or the Charles City Senior Center.

The Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa is assisting the family.

William Ward Lincoln was born December 9, 1942 in Charles City, the son of Merle and Selma (Weghorst) Lincoln. He graduated from Charles City High School and Mankato Commercial College. Bill proudly served for six years in the Iowa National Guard. He was employed at White Farm Equipment in Charles City for eight years, White Construction in Northfield, Illinois for two years and Chas. Levy Circulating in Chicago, Illinois for 12 years. Bill was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Our Brother’s Keeper and the Senior Center, where he served as treasurer. He always enjoyed being at the Mississippi River when he and his parents had a place at Harpers Ferry.

Bill is survived by his cousins: Joan (Dennis) Smith of Charles City, Lester (Marcia) Lincoln of Waverly, Janan (Richard) Egan of Marion, Roger (Jan) Stiles of Iowa City and Nancy (Steve) Jacobson of West Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
