Lainie Lynn Manning

180221_J_Manning, Lainie- obitLainie Lynn Manning, 46, of Charles City, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

A private memorial service was held for Lainie Manning.

Lainie was born on February 17, 1971 in Elkader, Iowa to John and Sharon (Bolsinger) Beatty.  She graduated from Edgewood-Colesburg High School with the class of 1990. She also attended Minot State University School for Broadcasting in Minot, North Dakota.  In September of 1993, she was blessed with her son Cassidy.  On May 7, 2005, Lainie was united in marriage to Mark Manning at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City.  Together they raised four sons.

Lainie spent the majority of her life being a Radio host (Brooks) on the Bucky-n-Brooks Morning Show on K-98.5.  She enjoyed it, people were listening to her by choice, you never knew what story she was going to share. Some of her highlight moments were interviewing Willie Nelson and Garth Brooks.  Lainie was so happy she was able to take her family to a concert or other event with her and share a memory with them. She was currently working at HogSlat in Charles City which was a new experience for her.

Lainie was known to be a “Truthteller”, which most of her family and friends respected her for.  Lainie was a very devoted wife and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Her family and close friends were everything to Lainie. She enjoyed the fishing trips that she took with Mark, watching not only her sons, but her nephews and nieces in their many activities, watching movies, reading books, listening to a variety of music, sitting by the river and spending time with her family and circle of friends. Grace and Sampson, her two precious dogs, kept her busy and entertained.  Lainie enjoyed trying out new recipes, some good some not so good. With her sense of humor you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth, or what prank she was going to pull off.

Lainie is survived by her sons:  Cassidy Beatty of Charles City, Matthew and his fiancé Amy of Dubuque, Taylor of Cedar Falls and Nate of Charles City; parents, John Beatty (Lerene Clinton) of Elkader and Sharon Beatty of Guttenberg; brother, Lonnie (Joleen) Beatty of Manchester with their family Greg Beatty (Stephanie Morris) of Grinnell, Hunter Beatty of Manchester; sister, Christine (Shane) Templeton of Montezuma with their family Zach Templeton, Rebecca (James) Frank of Montezuma and sons Brydon, Carter, Jaxon. Nick (Autumn) Osterloh of Lewis, Nevaeh, Parker and Charlee; her Godson, Jamie Murphy; and many more relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mark; grandparents, Bill and Iva Bolsinger and Iola Reimer; and niece, Deanna Osterloh.
