Elizabeth J. Tegtmeier

180403_J_Tegtmeier obitMarble Rock: Funeral Services for Elizabeth J. Tegtmeier, 86, of Marble Rock will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Walter F. Bohl Community Center in Marble Rock.  Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.

Elizabeth was born in New Hartford on December 18, 1931, the daughter of Jans and Etta (Deraad) Arends and died February 16, 2018, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.  She attended public school in New Hartford, Clarksville, Greene, and Marble Rock.

Elizabeth was united in marriage to Irven Henry Tegtmeier on November 17, 1951, at the Baptist Church in Marble Rock.  This union was blessed with one son, Jim.

For over 40 years she was a bookkeeper for Tegtmeier Backhoe and Trucking in Marble Rock.

She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, watching and feeding birds, cooking, and playing with her great grandchildren. Elizabeth loved “Wheel of Fortune” and other game shows. She also like to play cards.

She is survived by her son Jim Tegtmeier of marble Rock; Grandaughters: Kristy Tegtmeier and daughters: Elizabeth, Makenna of Marble Rock; Chelsie Purchase and daughters Kenzie, Chloe, and Karissa all of Charles City; sisters Edna King and Mary Jane Pickett both of Marble Rock; brothers: John Arends of Rockford, Elmer Arends of Nashua and Gary Arends of Waterloo, and Roger Arends of Charles City.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Irven Tegtmeier, her parents; sister Esther Green; brothers Donnie Arends and Siebe John Arends.
