Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Nashua with Rev. John Tunnicliff presiding. Pallbearers will be Troy Hannemann, Eric Crabtree, Chad Crabtree, Jeremy Mayrose, Brian Fisher, Josh Fisher, Jordan Fisher and Zach Loy. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Mayrose and Matthew Nelson.

Friends may greet the family 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home – Olson Chapel in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.   Online condolences for Mary’s family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.com

Mary Maude Fisher was born August 25, 1930, in Charles City, IA, the daughter of Charles and Florence (Ersing) Patten. Mary received her education in Charles City. During her teenage years she was introduced to James Fisher through mutual friends. The couple were united in marriage on January 24, 1948, in Charles City, IA. To this union 6 children were born. Mary was a devoted mother spending her time at home taking care of her children, and tending to the many tasks around the house. Initially the couple lived in the Nashua area for the first five years of their marriage before moving to Le Mars, IA. The family moved back to the Nashua in 1968.

Mary had a passion for flowers, and enjoyed flower gardening in the summer. She liked reading, embroidery and to travel. She was an active member in the United Methodist Church in Nashua for many years. Mary’s love was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Spending time with them was some of the most precious times in her life.

Mary is survived by two sons, Larry Fisher of Nashua, IA, Lee (Lorie) Fisher of Nashua, IA; four daughters, Linda (Chuck) Van De Water of Le Mars, IA, Lynette Tullis of Sioux city, IA, Lois (James) Wedeking of Nashua, IA, Lorraine Crabtree of Nashua, IA; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wendell (Donna) Patten of Charles City, IA, Kenneth (Joyce) Patten of Minneapolis, MN; four sisters, Betty Patten of Minneapolis, MN, Jeane Veigel of Boise, ID, Kathy (Chuck) Kraut of Texas and Janis Munson of Charles City, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Fisher in 1994; brother, Robert Patten; three sisters, Joann Patten, Patricia Jennings and Ruth Demro; grandson, Jim Mayrose.
