Ron Squier

Ron Squier passed away June 22, 2018, peacefully in his sleep. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 28 at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First St. Ankeny, IA 50021). Memorial services will be held Friday, June 29th at 10:30 a.m., at Ankeny First United Methodist Church – Faith Chapel (7384 NW 16th St, Ankeny, IA 50023).

Ron was born on April 11, 1926, in Rockford, IA to Merle and Mildred (Marchant) Squier. He graduated from Rockford High School in 1944. Upon graduation, Ron served his country in the US Navy until 1946. After his discharge, Ron returned to Rockford where he made his living self-employed with Squier Dairy and Squier Furniture Stripping.

In Ron’s free time, he enjoyed fishing, trapping and hunting. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling to Navy reunions and Trappers conventions. Ron was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret and daughter, Ronda. Survivors include his daughter, Marcia and granddaughter, Danielle (Dan Bench).
