Todd Caster

TTodd Allen Caster, age 51 of Charles City passed away on Friday Oct. 19, 2018. Todd’s life was cut short by the horrible, horrible disease, dementia.

A celebration of Todd’s life will be held at a later date.

Todd was born on June 10, 1967 in Charles City to his parents Dennis and Deborah (Sweeney) Caster. He graduated from Charles City High School and went on to further his education at Iowa State University. Todd worked a variety of jobs through out the midwest. The last few years as a maintenance tech at apartment complexes in the Des Moines area. Todd was diagnosed with dementia about 3 years ago and struggled with, why me? It has been hard to see him fail so fast but now he is himself. That is all his family could ask for.

Todd had a unique way about him, good or bad he was loved. Just ask his niece Emily, where hugs were abundant. Smart – funny – jokester and could be a smart*** at times. Todd was at his best when he was spending time with his son Spencer. One of their favorite spots, when they were in town, was the fossil park near Rockford. They were not just father and son, they were best friends. So when we remember Todd we will miss the way he laughed – his quirky smile – sense of humor – we will just miss him. Todd was brought into this world early and left the same way, toooooo soon. Todd is survived by his son Spencer Caster-Hawk of Urbandale, parents Dennis Caster & Deborah Schmidtke of Charles City, sister Wendy (Craig) Bonzer, niece Emily Bonzer, nephew Riley Bonzer all of Mason City, and all of his extended family.

Todd was proceeded in death by his brother Ryan Caster, grandparents Marvin & Marian Sweeney, Glen & Betty Caster.
